Docs
Setup takes about two minutes. Most of it is getting an AI key.
Quick start
- 01 Install the extension Add it from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it to your toolbar.
- 02 Pick a provider and paste a key Open Settings → AI Provider. New to this? Choose Google Gemini — its free tier is the fastest start.
- 03 Add your résumé Settings → My Docs & Info. Upload a .pdf, .docx, .txt or .md, or paste the text. A .docx also becomes the Word résumé that Pro tailors in place. Scanned PDFs cannot be read.
- 04 Open a posting and run it Read job → Generate → on the form, Autofill. Review everything, attach your file, and submit yourself.
Providers
The model is chosen from a per-provider list, not typed. These are the defaults.
- Google Gemini
- Free tier — open aistudio.google.com/apikey, click Get API key, paste it in. Takes about a minute. Default model gemini-3.5-flash.
- OpenAI
- Key from platform.openai.com.
- Anthropic
- Key from console.anthropic.com.
- Local or custom
- Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Leave the key blank and set a base URL — Ollama, LM Studio and llama.cpp all work, with no internet connection at all.
- AutoJob Pro AI
- Pro only. No key to create, no provider account. Your job and résumé text passes through our server on its way to Google's Gemini API. We don’t profile it or train on it, but we can’t promise zero infrastructure logging — for that, use your own key or a local model. Opt-in, never preselected, 100 runs a month. It is shown as Managed in the extension's provider list.
Honest limits
Autofill breadth
Solid on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and ordinary forms. Heavy dynamic Workday flows may need touch-ups.
File uploads
Browsers block scripted file inputs, so you attach the PDF or DOCX yourself. AutoJob fills the text fields and gives you the tailored documents.
Word fidelity on Pro
Untouched content stays byte-identical. One caveat: a reworded line with mixed inline formatting adopts that line's base format. For a pixel-perfect PDF, use Save as PDF from Word or Docs — a server-side converter would break the local-first promise.
